At 82 Waterloo Road, Macquarie Park NSW 2113, Capture Australia's own staff scan photo albums and loose prints in-house on our proprietary glare-removal equipment, the same equipment and process used at every drop-off point in our network. It's a genuine location like any other, just run directly by us rather than an independent partner, which gives us a bit more flexibility for unusual requests or if you happen to be nearby. Your originals never leave our care.
The Capture Service Centre is at 82 Waterloo Road, Macquarie Park NSW 2113, in the business and technology precinct that also hosts Macquarie University and Macquarie Centre. It's an easy drive from North Ryde, Marsfield, Epping, Eastwood, Ryde and Chatswood, with on-site parking typical of Macquarie Park's business park streets. This is a working facility rather than a retail shop, so there's no walk-in counter and no fixed opening hours. Contact us first and we'll arrange a time that suits you, whether that's dropping albums in yourself, an unusual request one of our partner shops can't easily take on, or, in some cases, a pickup instead.
Our own staff scan photo albums exactly as they are, page by page, through the plastic sleeve, so nothing needs to come out. Loose prints of any size go through the same process, as do framed portraits and prints up to 45cm x 70cm, scanned through the glass without removing them from the frame. Whether it's a single album or a full collection you've been meaning to deal with, it's the same process used at every Capture Australia location. Film, negatives, slides and VHS tapes aren't part of this service.
Contact us first and tell us roughly what you have and what you need. For most jobs you'll drop off in person by arrangement; if you have an unusual request or a pickup would genuinely help, ask and we'll let you know what's possible depending on your suburb and current demand. Scanning happens on site on Capture Australia's own equipment, run by our own trained staff, not sent to a partner shop or an outside lab. You'll get an estimated photo count and an indicative quote before scanning starts, and the exact count is confirmed once scanning is done, which is what you pay on. Turnaround is typically two to three weeks.
Because this is Capture Australia's own facility rather than an independent partner shop, the same team that answers your enquiry is the team that scans your albums and hands them back, whether that's at collection or back at your door if a pickup was arranged. Nothing is boxed up and forwarded to another business, and nothing travels between locations.
Macquarie Park was split off from North Ryde and built up as a business and technology park from the mid-1960s, once Macquarie University was established in the area on what had been market gardens and bushland. Most of what stands there today, including our own building, is younger than the photographs people bring us to scan. So this isn't a location with a story to tell about the suburb; it's simply where Capture Australia is based, which means if you live or work nearby, or you've got something a bit out of the ordinary to ask about, you can deal directly with the people who do the scanning rather than a partner shop.
Prefer a partner shop instead? Capture Australia also has trusted partners across Sydney, Newcastle, Canberra and Brisbane.
