RetroMedia uses Capture Australia's proprietary glare-removal technology to digitise bound photo albums, loose prints, and photos or prints behind glass or plastic. We do not scan slides, negatives or film of any format. Albums stay assembled and photos stay in their sleeves throughout the entire scanning process.
RetroMedia is a family-run business with over fifteen years of experience in media transfer and photo digitisation, and all photo scanning is performed in-house at the Windsor location. Trained staff handle every album personally and will walk you through the process at drop-off. Photos do not get sent interstate, do not pass through a sorting facility and do not leave the partner premises at any stage.
At drop-off the team will inspect your albums, confirm the page count and provide an indicative quote before any work begins. You receive high-resolution JPEG files delivered on USB drive or by secure cloud download, ready for reprints, photobooks, sharing on Google Photos and long-term backup. Pricing depends on your collection size and type, and the final count is confirmed before payment. For large collections of 500 photos or more, scanning can often work out to around one dollar per photo or less. Ask at drop-off about scanning your whole collection. Turnaround is typically two to three weeks depending on volume and current queue length.
