Capture Australia's photo scanning services are available in Canberra through our authorised partner Lucent Imaging, located in Fyshwick ACT. Drop off your albums locally in the ACT, no postage to Sydney required, and your originals never leave the partner studio.
Lucent Imaging uses Capture Australia's proprietary glare-removal technology to digitise bound photo albums, loose prints, and photos or prints behind glass or plastic, including large-format and oversized prints and framed portraits up to 45cm x 70cm. Slides, negatives, film of any format and VHS tapes aren't part of our photo camera scanning technology, but partner shops may be able to help with these separately, so it's worth reaching out to them. Albums stay assembled and photos stay in their sleeves throughout the entire scanning process.
Lucent Imaging is by appointment only. Contact the studio in advance to arrange a drop-off time that suits you. At your appointment, the staff will inspect your albums, give you an estimated photo count and an indicative quote. Scanning is performed on-site at the Fyshwick studio using Capture Australia's proprietary equipment. Your originals are returned to you unchanged at collection.
You receive high-resolution JPEG files delivered via a secure cloud link, ready for reprints, photobooks, sharing on Google Photos and long-term backup. A USB drive is available on request. Pricing depends on your collection size and type, and the final count is confirmed before payment. For large collections of 500 photos or more, scanning can often work out to around one dollar per photo or less. Ask the studio about scanning your whole collection. Turnaround is typically two to three weeks depending on volume and current queue length at the studio.
Capture Australia's no-glare scanning process isn't limited to Canberra. We also have trusted partners in Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane, so it's easy to point family interstate to the same trusted process. Running a Canberra business, club or school with an archive to preserve? Our heritage & organisation archive digitisation service handles honour boards, yearbooks and founder-era collections at scale.
