There is no mail-in option and no price published upfront: you get an estimated photo count and an indicative quote at drop-off, and pay on the exact count once scanning is finished. Framers Warehouse is on Darley Street in the middle of the Mona Vale shopping strip, an easy trip from Newport, Bayview, Church Point, Warriewood, Elanora Heights, Ingleside and Terrey Hills. Street parking is available nearby. Framers Warehouse opens Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm, and Saturday, 8:30am to 1pm, and is closed on Sundays.
Framers Warehouse's staff scan photo albums exactly as they are, page by page, through the plastic sleeve, using Capture Australia's technology, so nothing needs to come out. Loose prints of any size, and framed portraits and prints up to 45cm x 70cm, are scanned through the glass without removing them from the frame. Film, negatives, slides, VHS tapes and other video formats are not part of this service. Framers Warehouse's own workshop separately offers custom framing, photo restoration and fine art Giclée printing.
Walk in with your albums or prints, no appointment needed. A staff member checks what you've brought and gives you an estimated photo count and an indicative quote on the spot. Scanning happens on Capture Australia's equipment, installed at Framers Warehouse and run by their own trained staff, in the same workshop where you dropped off, not sent to another branch or an outside lab. Once scanning is complete, the exact photo count is confirmed and that is what you pay on. You collect your original albums and prints together with your digital files, usually within two to three weeks.

Locals first tried to form a surf club at Mona Vale in the 1913-14 season, but the First World War delayed that until 1922-23, when the Mona Vale Surf Bathers' Life Saving Club was formally established with Fred Lane, Australia's first Olympic swimming gold medallist, as founding president. Its first wooden clubhouse was built next to Darley Street itself, recording six rescues and no fatalities in its first year. Long before Mona Vale had shops, Pittwater's paddocks and bush-covered hills were sprouting small weekender cottages, built by Sydneysiders escaping humid inland suburbs for cool salty sea air, a pattern that filled Northern Beaches family albums with decades of the same faces at the same stretch of coast. Heat and high humidity, common in beach houses built for summer rather than sealed year-round, are exactly what accelerate fading, discolouration and silver mirroring in old prints, so those coastal albums are often more at risk than ones that stayed inland.
